In 1935 the governors of Iowa and Minnesota agreed that the winner of the Hawkeye and Golden Gopher game would receive a prize hog from the losing governor’s home state. The Gophers were presented with an Iowa hog from Rosedale Farms after a 13-6 victory. The next year, Floyd, our 98 lb. friend, was sculpted into a trophy instead of exchanging a live pig each year. The trophy has been awarded to the winning school each year since.
Floyd checks in at around 6 lbs., stands 12 inches tall and is 13 inches from tail to snout.
